Arnau Folch Duran has a wide range of work experience in the field of scientific research and leadership roles. Arnau is currently working as a Professor at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas since May 2021. Previously, they held the position of Group Lead at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center since March 2008. Arnau also served as the Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) at Mitiga Solutions starting from February 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Post-doc at the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia from 2006 to 2008. Arnau also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas from 2002 to 2005 and at CIMNE from 2000 to 2001.
Arnau Folch Duran earned a Licentiate degree in Physics from the Universitat de Barcelona from 1989 to 1994. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Numerical methods for calculus and design in engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 1995. Finally, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Mathematics from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya between 1996 and 2000.
