Leila Zurba Ribeiro is a highly experienced professional in the field of wireless communications and spectrum evolution, currently serving as Chief Scientist at MITRE since July 2009. With a strong background in national airspace systems, Leila's roles have included Technology Director of Open Generation and Chief Engineer for National Airspace System (NAS) Infrastructure, overseeing critical communication, navigation, surveillance, and spectrum systems. Prior to MITRE, Leila was Director of Systems Engineering at CelPlan Technologies from 1996 to 2009 and served as an Adjunct Professor at George Mason University, teaching courses on Satellite Communications. Leila holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and advanced degrees from Universidade Estadual de Campinas and Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina.
