Daniel Nikovski began their work experience as a co-founder of Intellectronix in 1997. Daniel then joined Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs in 2001 as a Research Scientist, later becoming the Principal Technical Staff. In 2007, they became a Team Leader at the same company before eventually being promoted to Group Manager in 2011. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Scientist at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories.
Daniel Nikovski received their education from various institutions. Daniel attended English Language School Plovdiv from 1983 to 1988. Following this, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Systems and Control from Technical University Sofia, studying there from 1988 to 1992. Lastly, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Robotics at Carnegie Mellon University from 1995 to 2001.

Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL) is the US subsidiary of the corporate research and development organization of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. MERL conducts application-motivated basic research and advanced development in: Physical Modelling & Simulation, Signal Processing, Control, Optimization, and Artificial Intelligence.The main body of this report presents our recent research in these areas.
