Saviz Mowlavi

Saviz Mowlavi is a Research Scientist at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories since August 2022, previously serving as a Visiting Research Scientist at the same institution. With a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, Saviz Mowlavi earned a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2015 to 2022, where as a Graduate Research Assistant, key contributions included combining neural networks with physical modeling, developing algorithms for analyzing motion in physical datasets, and creating models for granular media dynamics. Prior research internships included integration of deep learning with airflow control at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories and fluid mechanics analysis for product design at Nestlé. Earlier academic achievements include a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
