MLflow
Matei Zaharia is the CTO and cofounder of Databricks, a leading Data + AI platform, since 2013. Currently serving as an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley, Zaharia also holds the position of VP of Apache Spark and Hadoop Committer at The Apache Software Foundation since 2009. Previously, Zaharia was an Associate and Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University from 2016 to 2023, and an Assistant Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2015 to 2016. Zaharia's academic journey began with a PhD in Computer Science from UC Berkeley from 2007 to 2012, after obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Honours Computer Science from the University of Waterloo from 2003 to 2007. Early in the career, Zaharia gained experience as a Software Engineer Intern at Google and Facebook and worked as a Research Assistant focused on peer-to-peer search algorithms and networking.

MLflow
MLflow is an open source platform to manage the ML lifecycle, including experimentation, reproducibility, deployment, and a central model registry. MLflow currently offers four components: 1.) MLflow Tracking - Record and query experiments: code, data, config, and results 2.) MLflow Projects - Package data science code in a format to reproduce runs on any platform 3.) MLflow Models - Deploy machine learning models in diverse serving environments 4.) Model Registry - Store, annotate, discover, and manage models in a central repository
