Mahalik Burns has a strong background in field service engineering and biomedical engineering. Mahalik began their career as a Biomedical Technician, inspecting and repairing medical equipment. Mahalik then worked as a Biomedical Engineer, monitoring and calibrating various medical devices.

In their role as a Biomedical Engineer at Modern Medical Systems, Mahalik also conducted Y2K testing and upgrades of equipment. Mahalik later became a Biomedical Engineer/Coordinator at GE Medical Systems, where they serviced and maintained a range of medical devices at Emory Peachtree Regional Hospital and other facilities.

Mahalik then transitioned to the role of Field Service Engineer/Applications Specialist at GE Medical Systems/Lunar division, where they performed service repairs, troubleshooting, calibration, and preventive maintenance on x-ray bone mineral density scan systems. Mahalik also managed territories in the South and Northeast regions.

Subsequently, Mahalik joined CYTYC/Hologic as a Field Service Engineer, and later moved to Hospira, a Pfizer Company, where they served as a Senior Field Service Engineer. In these roles, they were responsible for installing, servicing, repairing, and calibrating medical devices, as well as providing customer training and support. Mahalik also handled FDA recall corrections and promoted service agreements to customers.

Mahalik then joined Cynosure, a Hologic company, as a Field Services Engineer, specializing in cosmetic and aesthetic laser systems. Mahalik installed, serviced, repaired, tested, calibrated, and troubleshooted laser systems, verified energy outputs, and performed software upgrades.

Most recently, Mahalik has been working at Leica Biosystems as a Field Service Engineer, responsible for maintaining and repairing Bond-III slide stainer systems, Microtome devices, and Peloris tissue processors in a laboratory setting. Mahalik also stays updated on technical service bulletins and maintains service reports using Salesforce.

Currently, Mahalik holds the position of Senior Field Service Engineer at Medical Microinstruments, Inc. Mahalik'sresponsibilities include performing installation, repair, and troubleshooting of the Symani robot system in preparation for its market release. Mahalik also provides support during Congress events in the US and Europe and ensures proper documentation as per manufacturer guidelines.

Mahalik Burns attended Stony Brook University from 1990 to 1994, where they studied Engineering. During the same period, they also attended Farmingdale State College, where they also pursued Engineering. No specific degree names were provided for either institution.
