Jilt Sebastian, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of speech and audio processing. From 2020 to present, they have been working as a Senior Research Scientist at Mobius Labs, where they focus on developing audio-related features, such as automatic speech recognition systems and feature representations for downstream audio tasks. Prior to that, from 2018 to 2020, they worked as a Research Engineer at Telepathy Labs, where they contributed to research and product development in speech services, including multi-modal emotion recognition and sentiment analysis.
Jilt also gained valuable experience as a Pre Doctoral Fellow at the Idiap Research Institute from 2017 to 2018, where they developed deep learning models for speech and audio separation, as well as worked on sequence-to-sequence neural networks for spike estimation from neuronal signals.
Furthermore, Jilt pursued their doctoral research as a Doctoral Research Scholar at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras from 2013 to 2018. Jilt'sresearch focused on novel methods for time-event detection and source separation in speech processing applications. Jilt collaborated with leading universities worldwide and gained experience in developing theoretical proofs, formulating and solving research problems, and developing domain-agnostic features.
Additionally, Jilt has had visiting research experiences at the University of Southern California in 2017 and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2017, where they further expanded their knowledge and expertise.
Before pursuing their PhD, Jilt worked as a senior programmer at Accenture in India from 2011 to 2013.
Jilt Sebastian, PhD, completed their education in a chronological order. Jilt started their academic journey in 2002 at St. Georges H.S.S Kattappana, where they completed their S.S.L.C and H.S.E in Basic Science and Mathematics in 2007. Jilt then pursued a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from Amal Jyothi College of Engineering from 2007 to 2011.
Jilt continued their education and enrolled in the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 2013. There, they pursued a Masters and Ph.D degree in Computer Science, which they successfully completed in 2018.
Additionally, Jilt has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. In 2020, they completed certifications such as "Advanced Predictive Modeling: Mastering Ensembles and Metamodeling," "DevOps for Data Scientists," "Docker for Data Scientists," "NLP with Python for Machine Learning Essential Training," and "PyTorch Essential Training: Deep Learning," all from LinkedIn.
