James Adams

Director of Operations / Infrastructure at MOD Mission Critical

James Adams has over 20 years of work experience in the field of technology and infrastructure. James currently holds the position of Director of Operations/Infrastructure at MOD Mission Critical since March 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior System Engineer at the same company, starting in August 2019.

Before joining MOD Mission Critical, James worked as a Sr Engineer at RHEL Admin from February 2017 to August 2019. James was responsible for configuring Red Hat nodes, writing scripts for automation, and converting configuration files into puppet for monitoring and automation builds.

James also has experience working at TD Ameritrade, Inc. as a Sr Engineer, where they were involved in configuring Red Hat nodes and automating processes using scripts. At Aureus Group, they held the position of Senior Engineer, specializing in infrastructure operations and migration to Red Hat.

Earlier in their career, James worked as a Technology Architect at Cerner Corporation, where they were responsible for solution upgrades and knowledge transfer. James also gained experience as a Systems Engineer at Raytheon, managing operations and leading a team for the AFWA JPSS CGS application.

Prior to their technology-focused roles, James worked as a firefighter and EMT at Bellevue Fire Department for 11 years. James also worked as a Systems Engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation, where they handled enterprise-class servers and database servers with IBM virtualization.

At the beginning of their career, James held the position of Systems Engineer at TRW, where they worked on integrating hardware and new software operating systems for USSTRATCOM Offutt AFB projects.

James Adams has a diverse education history. In 1990, they attended Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, NE, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Architectural Drafting and Design in 1992. James then went on to study at the University of Idaho from 1993 to 1997, earning a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree in Industrial Technology/Technician. In 2009, James pursued further education at the University of Phoenix, where they completed a Master's degree in Information Systems in 2010. Additionally, James holds a certification in Network + from CompTIA, although the specific attainment date is unknown.
