Deirdre Corley has a diverse work experience in the creative industry. Deirdre is currently working at Mod Op as a Creative Director, specializing in copywriting. In this role, they handle various tasks such as concepting and executing campaigns, writing scripts for ads, creating headlines, and developing social media copy. Deirdre joined Mod Op as an Associate Creative Director/Senior Copywriter in May 2018 and transitioned to their current role in February 2020.
Prior to Mod Op, Deirdre worked at Powell Communications as a Content Specialist from February 2015 to October 2018. In 2016, Deirdre worked as an Associate Editor at Fast Company, specifically for FastCo.Works. In this role, they wrote and produced content for custom and native content campaigns, collaborated with the sales team to develop creative editorial concepts, and managed a team of freelance writers.
Earlier in their career, Deirdre worked at Google as a Researcher and Fact Checking Coordinator from January 2012 to June 2013. Deirdre'sresponsibilities included overseeing a team of fact checkers for Zagat's guide books, conducting quality control and research for Google Maps listings, and interacting with business owners.
Before joining Google, Deirdre co-founded Package Deals, a touring short film and music video program. This program showcased curated works from different creative communities internationally and was featured in various film festivals and art galleries from March 2006 to January 2012.
Deirdre also worked at Brooklyn Arts Council as the Head Programmer and Event Producer for Scene: Brooklyn. In this role from October 2008 to June 2011, they screened and programmed films, organized panels and workshops, scheduled screenings, prepared program guides, maintained the festival's website, and served as a liaison between the festival and participating filmmakers.
