Kristen Palughi began their career in 2012 as a Software Engineering Intern at Merrick Systems, Inc. In 2013, they became a Student Research Technician at Applied Research Laboratories, The University of Texas at Austin. The following year, they held a Student Library Assistant position at The University of Texas at Austin. Kristen then returned to Chevron as a Facilities Engineering Intern in 2014. From 2015 to 2021, they worked as a Fixed Equipment Engineer and then as a Thermal Mechanical Design Engineer at Chevron and Modern Electron, respectively. During their time at Chevron, they provided pipeline integrity assessments, performed fitness-for-service assessments, and designed heat exchangers. Kristen also managed facilities engineering projects, had project management skills, and was familiar with industry standards.
Kristen Palughi obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin between 2011 and 2015. Kristen also holds an Engineer In Training certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.
