Jeff Wecker is the Chief Technology Officer at Two Sigma, a financial sciences company using advanced technology and data science across investment management, private equity, venture capital, impact investing, insurance and market making. He oversees a team of 900 engineers, technologists, data scientists and researchers.
Jeff joined Two Sigma from Goldman Sachs, where he served as a partner and the company’s first Chief Data Officer. In this role, he established the company’s enterprise data strategy, formed its first Data Intelligence and Data Engineering departments, and established data offices across Goldman’s divisions. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Jeff served in senior roles at Bridgewater Associates — including head of front office transformation and chief business architect — where he was responsible for the strategic transformation of the hedge fund’s investment engine.
He previously served as Chief Executive Officer at Lime Brokerage and Townsend Analytics, global head of electronic trading at Lehman Brothers, and co-founder of Caspian Holdings, where he was Chief Executive Officer of Caspian Asset Management. Early in his career, Jeff also spent over a decade at Goldman Sachs managing quantitative strategies.
He is a co-founder and advisor to Jupiter Intelligence, a climate and weather risk data science firm, and a co-founder and advisor to Datamarx, a start-up focused on enhancing consumer privacy permissioning. Jeff holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Princeton University.
