Karen O'Brien

Karen O'Brien has extensive experience in data analysis and analytics within the U.S. Army, culminating in their role as the Lead Data Scientist at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. Karen has held various leadership positions, such as Chief Evaluator and Division Chief, where they implemented innovative methodologies and oversaw critical evaluations to enhance operational efficiency and readiness. Their expertise in analytics and data science has been instrumental in driving policy changes and optimizing resource allocation across different Army commands and divisions.

Karen O'Brien began their education journey in 1992 at Northern Arizona University, where they pursued a BS Ed in Physical Science and graduated in 1997. Karen continued their education with various certifications, including Level III Test and Evaluation from Defense Acquisition University in 2009, Level I Engineering in 2012, and Level I Science and Technology in 2015. Karen then expanded their skills with graduate coursework in Operations Research at Florida Institute of Technology in 2009. Currently, they are pursuing an MS in Data Science at Northwestern University, with an expected completion in 2022. Additionally, Karen obtained certifications in Master of Science in Predictive Analytics from Northwestern University in 2021 and U.S. Army Acquisition Corps from the U.S. Army in 2011.
