Cathal Harmon is a Principal Scientist in Therapeutics Translational Research at Moderna, where they have taken on roles as a Scientist and Senior Scientist. They earned a First Class Honours B.Sc in Biomedical Science from the Dublin Institute of Technology in 2012, where they also received the Institute of Biomedical Science's President's Prize for academic achievement. Cathal began their career as a medical laboratory scientist in Dublin teaching hospitals before completing a PhD in Immunology at Trinity College Dublin, focusing on the liver immune system during metastatic colorectal cancer. Most recently, they conducted postdoctoral research in innate immunity and cancer at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital from 2018 to 2023.
