Matthew Middleton has a wealth of experience in the fields of strength and conditioning, operations, business development, and event management. Matthew began their career in 2008 as a Freelance Strength & Conditioning Coach, designing and implementing strength programs for a British Triathlete and Loughborough Students Squash Club. From 2009 to 2013, they worked for Bath Rugby as the Head Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach and Academy Strength & Conditioning Coach, where they were responsible for the physical development of senior academy and 1st XV players to English Premiership, age group, and full international standard. In 2013, they became a Sales Representative for Fussells Fine Foods, travelling nationally and managing stock and client interaction. From 2014 to 2016, they worked for Delta Rugby and Buenos Aires Cricket & Rugby Club as a Strength & Conditioning Consultant and Coach, advising on positive changes to the current S&C programs and athlete profiling. During this same period, they were also Head of Physical Education and Head of Athletic Development for Denstone College, leading the athletic development and S&C programme of services to pupils aged 11-18. In 2015, they became an Event Specialist for Threshold Sports, providing outdoor physical challenge event support and managing volunteers and crew. From 2017 to 2018, they were Director of Operations for Lawacre Investments Ltd., investing in and operating health and fitness SMEs. Finally, they are currently an Account Manager for Modo Energy, starting in 2022.
Matthew Middleton completed their A Level/AS Level at Howard of Effingham School between 1998 and 2005, studying Biology, Physical Education, Leisure & Recreation, and Psychology. Matthew then attended Loughborough University from 2005 to 2008, where they earned a BSc in Sport & Exercise Science. Finally, they completed an MSc in Master of Exercise (Strength & Conditioning) at Edith Cowan University from 2010 to 2015.
