Jim Ryan is the Operations Director at Modubuild, a market leading contractor specializing in Modular construction solutions and passive fire and explosion protection systems. Jim has been with Modubuild for 3 years and 11 months, during which time they have held the positions of Operations Director, Operations Manager, and Construction Manager. In their current role, Jim is responsible for the operation of the construction activities, including the implementation of the Quality & EHS Management Systems on all construction projects.
Prior to joining Modubuild, Jim was a Project Manager with Veolia Ireland, where they were responsible for managing the execution of water & waste-water treatment sites across Ireland. Jim was with Veolia for 2 years before moving to Georgiou, where they spent 6 years and 6 months as a Project Manager. In this role, Jim was responsible for meeting/exceeding clients expectations and contractual requirements, developing and implementing Project Management Plans (PMP), monitoring the project to ensure all activities were completed on or ahead of schedule, optimizing the use of human and material resources to achieve productive performance, managing the quality requirements of the specification, conducting and leading project risk assessment, identifying and evaluating suppliers, contractors/subcontractors and consultants, ensuring contractors/subcontractors/consultants met all project specific HSE requirements, preparing documentation (contracts/works agreements/purchase orders, etc.), completing and submitting contractual/progress claims and the negotiation of acceptable solutions with relevant stakeholders, conducting Forecast Reports and monthly financial summary reports (Multiple Projects), communicating management’s/clients requirements, work methods, inspection, test requirements to direct reports and the workforce, ensuring that all activities and employees complied with all legislative/statutory obligations, company policies, codes, standards, procedures and specific company instructions or guidelines, and leading, coaching and mentoring engineers and other team members.
Jim Ryan has a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University and a Diploma of Project Management from the Institute of Management.
