Jari Ovaskainen

Jari Ovaskainen has a diverse background in business development, sales, and management roles. Jari is currently working as the Director of Business Development at Modulight Corporation, where they leverage laser technology to build concepts and solutions for leading companies in various industries. Prior to this, Jari was a Co-founder of a social startup using AI/ML with chatbot technology, and they also worked as an Executive for New Business Development and Solution Sales at Digitalist Group & Network. Jari has experience in sales, marketing, and product management roles at Confidex Ltd., Smartrac Technology, and UPM - The Biofore Company. Jari has a strong track record in developing strategic partnerships and driving digital transformation initiatives. Jari also has previous experience in technology management, project leadership, and engineering roles at Bittium and BMW Group. In their early career, Jari worked as a geophysicist field-assistant for diamond exploration at Ashton Mining Limited. From 2022 to 2025, Jari pursued a Doctor of Science degree in Engineering/Industrial Management at LUT University.

Between 2017 and 2019, Jari completed a Master's degree in Industrial management (Tuotantotalous) at LUT University.

In 2017 and 2018, Jari studied Design Management and Service Design (25 op) at the University of Lapland's Faculty of Art and Design.

From 2013 to 2015, Jari attended Tampere University of Applied Sciences and obtained an eMBA in International Business and Marketing.

In 2015, Jari received a PM Master certification from Suomen Projekti-instituutti as a Certified PMO Manager™.
