Marie Li

Director of R&D at Modumetal

Marie Li is the current Director of R&D at Modumetal. Marie has previous experience working as a Senior Process Development Engineer and a Senior Research and Development Engineer. At Modumetal, they were responsible for developing novel electrolyte formulations and process structural, iron-based nanolaminated alloys. Marie also developed a process for nanolaminated alloy application on reticulated vitreous (porous) carbon foams and woven fiber materials.

At Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions, Marie served as prismatic retro-reflective optical tooling production leader. In this role, they managed retroreflective tooling development, scale up and production process, enabling production of high performance, high quality and high profit margin products. Marie also formulated new electrolyte for high-speed electroforming aiming for high productivity and throughput. This new technology was successfully transitioned to production, resulting in reduced tooling scrap from 10% to 2% annually.

Marie successfully developed and implemented a high speed electroforming process in tooling production, which increased tooling production capacity and tooling productivity. The success of this project resulted in over $3M in capex savings while meeting increased tooling needs from company’s growth. Marie also successfully developed and implemented a method to restore tooling’s capability to replication, thus increased tooling life by 30% and reduced the cost of end products.

Marie Li works with Steve Brust - Director of Manufacturing, Ron Helmbeck - VP Sales, and Joel Baldwin - VP Legal & IP. Marie Li reports to Dennis Creech, President & CEO.
