Nicky Scott has been in the Human Resources industry since 2003. Nicky started their career at Worley Parsons as a Human Resources Coordinator, where they provided Human Resources support for an oil & gas engineering company. Nicky then moved to Tervita (CCS Income Trust) as a Human Resources Advisor in 2005, where they provided Human Resources support for both field and corporate clients. In 2008, they joined Lethbridge College as a Human Resources Consultant, where they provided Human Resources Consulting services to key clients and developed training programs for employees. In 2012, they became a Family Enterprise Advisor - Consultant for Canadian Family Futures Inc./Canadian Family Financial, where they specialized in facilitating the transition of wealth to the next generation. In 2017, they joined Grant Thornton LLP as a People & Culture Manager and in 2019, they became a Manager, Human Resources for iTel Networks Inc. Most recently, in 2021, they became the Head of People & Culture for Moduurn.

Nicky Scott's education history includes a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) from the University of Calgary in Marketing & Human Resources, which they obtained from 2000-2002. Nicky also obtained a Certificate in Interpersonal Conflict Resolution from AAMS and ADR Institute of Alberta in 2013. In 2005-2006, they obtained a Certificate in Event Management from Mount Royal University. In 2014-2015, they obtained a Family Enterprise Advisor Program (FEA) from the Institute of Family Enterprise Advisors (IFEA). Finally, they attended Red Deer Polytechnic from 1998-2000, but did not obtain a degree.
