DATA ENGINEER

Remote Position available for Latin American candidates only.

The Team

We are a leading software provider of Item Chain Management solutions to consumer brand, retail and industrial enterprises around the globe. We also provide development services and support to third-party customers across the globe. 

The Data Engineer must be comfortable working virtually as part of one or more customer engagements, with customers located in multiple geographies, and be willing to adjust schedules to meet the specific project's needs.

Position Location - USA (Remote).

Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on the East/West Coast time zones.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.

  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.

  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Azure technologies.

  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.

  • Work with stakeholders including to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

  • Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader.

  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.

What we’re looking for:

Minimum requirements:

  • Advanced English B2-C1 (spoken and written)

  • 3+ years as a Data Engineer experience building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

  • Analytics frameworks and languages, such as: Databricks, Scala, Python and Java.

  • Familiar with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.

  • Familiar with stream-processing systems: Apache Kafka, Spark-Streaming, etc.

  • Big Data pipelines via Streams and/or Batches.

  • Experience Relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including SQL Server and MongoDB.

  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable data stores.

  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, SSIS, Azure Data Factory.

  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
