My-Nuong Vo

Director Of Technology Development at Molecular Assemblies

My-Nuong Vo has worked in various roles in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology since 1999. My-Nuong began their career as an Associate in Research at Washington State University in 1999. My-Nuong then attended the University of Minnesota, where they worked as a Graduate Student from 2002 to 2007 and conducted research on protein-nucleic acid interactions, nucleic acid biology, nucleic acid chaperone biology, and enzyme kinetics. After completing their studies, they worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at The Scripps Research Institute from 2007 to 2011, where they uncovered the mechanism for how novel surfaces of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases can be exploited to expand new functions. From 2011 to 2020, they worked at Molecular Medicine, Scripps Research as a Staff Scientist, where they elucidated novel biology of tRNA synthetase and its applications for therapeutic interventions and discovered a novel proofreading mechanism that prevents the production of toxic protein aggregates caused by mistranslation. Currently, they work at Molecular Assemblies, Inc. as a Scientist IV, Lead-Process Development & Optimization and Scientist III, Protein Sciences.

My-Nuong Vo began their educational journey at Washington State University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 1996. My-Nuong then attended the University of California, Davis from 1997 to 1999, without completing a degree. Vo then returned to school in 2002, earning a Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from the University of Minnesota in 2007.
