Mairian Thomas

Mairian Thomas has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and companies. Mairian currently works at Molecular Devices as a Project Manager, a position they assumed in June 2023. Prior to this, they held the role of Senior Scientist at the same company from February 2023 to June 2023.

Before joining Molecular Devices, Mairian worked at Cellesce Ltd, a biochemical engineering company based in Cardiff. Mairian held the position of Senior Scientist from July 2018 to March 2023. In addition to their key duties, they successfully completed a two-year Innovate UK funded grant focused on the development and large-scale expansion of human-derived breast organoid lines. Mairian also acted as the line manager for a research scientist within the lab. Prior to this, from July 2016 to June 2018, they served as a Research and Development Scientist at Cellesce Ltd. Mairian'srole involved optimizing and validating large-scale processes for the expansion of organoids.

Mairian's earlier experiences include working at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd. Mairian started as a PhD candidate in October 2012 and completed their PhD in April 2016. Additionally, they served as a Research Associate at the university from November 2015 to March 2016.

Mairian Thomas completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biomedical Sciences from King's College London in the period from 2009 to 2012. After that, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mammary Biology at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd from 2012 to 2016. In addition to their formal education, Mairian obtained a certification in Iso9001:2015 Requirements training from BSI in August 2018.
