Michael Mendelsohn's work experience begins in 2017 as a Laboratory Technician at Columbia University in the City of New York. In this role, they conducted basic science research focused on the relationship between metabolic rhythms in yeast and their relation to cellular physiology and circadian rhythmicity. Michael also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant during this time.

In 2018, Mendelsohn joined Growth Wise Tutoring as a Subject Tutor, where they provided tutoring services.

In 2019, they continued their work at Columbia University as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Laboratory Technician. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, they supported instructional activities, and as a Laboratory Technician, they conducted research focused on the role of serotonin and the enteric nervous system in intestinal motility and inflammatory disorders. Michael also conducted basic and translational research in Dr. Christine Chio's lab, studying how perturbations in lipid metabolism contribute to pancreatic cancer carcinogenesis.

Most recently, in 2021, Mendelsohn joined Molecular Devices as a BioResearch Field Application Scientist, utilizing their expertise in the field to support research activities.

Michael Mendelsohn received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Human Nutrition, with a minor in Chemistry, from Virginia Tech. Michael attended Virginia Tech from 2012 to 2016. Following their undergraduate studies, Michael pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Human Nutrition at Columbia University, attending from 2017 to 2018.
