Alvaro Ponce Flores

Alvaro Ponce Flores has extensive work experience in the field of research and development. Alvaro began their career at Bureau Veritas Group in 2010 as a Failure Analysis Engineer, focusing on mechanical failures in the mining, mechanical, and metallurgical industry. During this time, Alvaro developed risk assessment protocols and conducted various tests, including AWS weld evaluation and metallographic studies.

In 2013, Alvaro joined Molymet as an R&D researcher, working in the Research, Development, and Innovation VP department. In this role, they led and coordinated R&D projects, from experimental to pilot plant scale, with the goal of expanding and diversifying the company's product portfolio. Alvaro designed experiments, synthesized materials using different techniques such as powder metallurgy and chemical methods, and performed chemical, physical, and mechanical characterizations.
