Dr. Fady Makar, Pharm.D. has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Fady began their career at California State University-Long Beach as a Student Advisor, where they provided guidance and support to pre-baccalaureate students. Dr. Fady then worked at Huntington Memorial Hospital as an Emergency Department Pharmacy APPE Student, assessing medication therapies for critically ill patients.
Dr. Makar also gained experience at Citrus Valley Health Partners as a Hospital Practice Systems APPE Student, where they dosed and monitored antibiotic and anticoagulant orders. Dr. Fady worked at the University of Southern California Medical Plaza Pharmacy as an Intern Pharmacist, performing patient consultations, prescription processing, and physician communication.
At Jeffrey Goodman Special Care Pharmacy, Dr. Makar served as a Community Pharmacy APPE Student, providing comprehensive care and consultations for HIV patients. Dr. Fady also collaborated with attending physicians to assess medication adherence and counsel on safe practices.
At CVS Health, Dr. Makar served as a Staff Pharmacist, managing pharmacy workflow, verifying prescription orders, and conducting clinical reviews. Dr. Fady then moved on to UnitedHealth Group, where they worked as a Clinical Pharmacist in Medicare and Retirement Appeals and Grievances, conducting research and making coverage recommendations for member and provider appeals.
Most recently, Dr. Makar worked at Molina Healthcare as a Clinical Pharmacist, with roles including serving as a Lead Clinical Pharmacist in Quality Assurance Auditing/Training Oversight and Marketplace Pharmacy Operations. In these positions, they acted as a subject matter expert, developed and maintained policies and procedures, and supported pharmacy operations.

Dr. Fady Makar, Pharm.D. completed their Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree at the University of Southern California from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physiology, General from California State University-Long Beach from 2005 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, Dr. Makar has obtained various certifications including a Registered Pharmacist License from the California State Board of Pharmacy in August 2014, an Adult and Adolescent Immunization Training Certificate from the American Pharmacists Association in October 2010, and a Basic Life Support and AED Certification (Healthcare Provider) from the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association in April 2009.
