Director Of Global Ceramics Technology at Momentive Technologies

Wei Fan has a diverse background in materials science and has held several roles in various companies. Wei began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Argonne National Laboratory, where they focused on developing low-temperature metal-organic chemical vapor deposition processes and barrier techniques for thin film growth. Wei also secured significant funding and established program frameworks during their time there. Later, they joined General Electric Advanced Materials as an Advanced Materials Scientist, leading NPI programs and developing coating processes for ceramic heaters and electrostatic chucks. Wei then moved to Momentive, where they held multiple roles, including NPI and Manufacturing Support Leader, Senior Materials Scientist, Ceramics NPI Manager, and currently serves as the Director of Global Ceramics Technology. Their responsibilities at Momentive included managing NPI projects, securing government funding, inventing new products and bonding technologies, and achieving significant cost reduction and sales growth. Throughout their career, Wei Fan has demonstrated expertise in ceramics technology, research collaborations, and product development.

Wei Fan received their Ph.D in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University from 1998 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Physics at Wuhan University from 1993 to 1997.
