Ron Turi

Ron represents Momentum Dynamics as a veteran expert in the field of battery development and design

Ron Turi draws upon more than 20 years of engineering experience in the battery industry to consult on battery design and development for manufacturers, suppliers and customers of the battery industry as the Owner/Principal at Element 3 Battery Venture LLC, established in 2007. Ron provides deep insight to tie technology objectives to product development road maps that include product/process design reviews, FMEA/postmortem analysis, IP/patent position reviews, cost/margin analyses, and technology/business due diligence reviews for existing or prospective stakeholders interested in the energy storage space. Ron also consults for investment community analysts that investigate battery industry companies and stakeholders. In addition, E3BV is developing novel electrolyte and conductive materials aimed at improving battery life and value for selected non-aqueous and aqueous battery chemistries.

Previously, Ron was the Director of Contract R&D at Lithium Technology Corporation from 1996 to 2008. At Lithium Technology Corporation, a large format lithium ion battery startup company, Ron’s various technology and business development roles led to the development of battery simulations and other tools that supported the introduction of products to early adopters in automotive, military, utilities, medical and aerospace industries, covering a diverse set of end-uses. These efforts facilitated the launch of complete lithium ion battery systems – lithium ion cells, battery assembly / housings, Battery Management System [BMS] electronics and thermal / mechanical / electrical / data controls.

Ron has been in the battery industry since 1992, and has held roles as an R&D Group Leader at Rexam Corporation – developing lithium ion battery electrodes and Research Engineer at Union Camp Corporation. He is currently located in Pennsylvania. Ron holds an MS Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Massachusetts and a BS Chemical Engineering degree from Carnegie-Mellon University.
