SaaS Telematics leader Momentum IoT has announced the additions of Dr. Steve Durana as VP of Engineering and Ed Suski as Advisor. Momentum IoT aims to make GPS tracking more affordable and convenient for their customers, which include small and mid-sized fleet managers in need of locating and managing trucks, trailers, and other heavy and light equipment. Founded in 2017, the Long Beach-based company boasts $3.1 million of funding from Howard Edmund Capital and Thompson Aerospace. “Our vision of an advanced, yet super simple hardware to serve field service fleets of all sizes is being validated in the market, with over a thousand paying customers signed in the last year,” said Momentum IoT CEO Justin Silva. “These visionary technology leaders will accelerate our innovation, and help us build on our excellent early success.” Prior to signing on with Momentum IoT, Dr. Steve Durana led hardware design teams in both the private and public sectors, including a stint with the U.S. Department of Defense. With Sentinel Security Services, Dr. Durana operated as Chief of Design, leading the team which developed GPS ankle bracelets, landline and cellular home monitoring units, among other products. Suski most recently operated as Chief Technology Officer for General Electric and United Technologies Corporation. Leading a 110-person team, Suski grew the video capture, storage and delivery product line to over $50 million annual revenue in three years. He studied electrical engineering and physics at the University of Michigan and Cal State Fullerton, and is the holder of ten U.S. patents.
