Silas Davis

CTO at Monax

Silas Davis is the current Chief Technical Officer at Monax. Prior to this, they worked as a software engineer at SwiftKey, where they were responsible for developing server-side components using statistical learning, natural language processing, and data mining to improve text input and prediction on touch screens. Silas also developed a Spark-based data pipeline and binary n-gram language format.

Before working at SwiftKey, Davis was a lead healthcare developer at Concentra Analytics. In this role, they were responsible for research, prototyping, policy, briefings, and sales activities in the health and social care space alongside development.

Earlier in their career, Davis worked as a research and development professional at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. In this role, they researched and developed an ontology of drugs in OWL/RDFS.

Davis began their career as a web developer at the University of Dundee in 2005.

Silas Davis attended the University of Edinburgh where they obtained their MPhys in mathematical physics. Silas then pursued a post-grad degree at the University of Cambridge in pure mathematics.

They are on a team with Mel Roy - Chief People Officer, Jeremy Drane - Co-Founder & Chief Commercial Officer, and Christina Giannakou - VP of Design. Silas Davis reports to Casey Kuhlman, CEO.
