JP Irvine has over 20 years of legal experience in the corporate and commercial sectors. JP began their career in 2001 as a Corporate and Commercial Solicitor at Clifford Chance LLP in London and Brussels. JP then moved to Arthur Cox in Dublin/Belfast as a Corporate and Energy Lawyer. In 2004, JP Irvine became the General Counsel, Legal Director and Company Secretary in Energy and Utilities for Translink and the NI Utility Regulator. In 2014, they were appointed as a new Non-Executive Director to the NI Housing Executive and NI Public Service Ombudsman. JP also co-founded the Origin Circle Collaborative Tech Forum in 2019. In the same year, they began working at Keystone Law as a Corporate and Commercial Tech Partner, and at Moneyhub Enterprise as the Chief Legal Counsel. Additionally, they are currently working as a Consultant Solicitor at JPP Law LLP and as the Chief Legal Officer (GC, Interim) at SeedLegals.

JP Irvine's education history includes a Law LLB from Queen's University Belfast from 1996 to 2000, with a focus on commercial law. JP also studied for a Doctor of Law (JD) at the University of Cambridge from 1996 to 1997 at Trinity College Cambridge, in the first year of law. Prior to this, they attended Rathmore Grammar from 1988 to 1995, where they were first in Northern Ireland in Politics, History, Law and Sociology. JP Irvine has also obtained certifications from the ICSA (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators) in 2015, the Institute of Administrative Management in 2012, and the Institute of Directors - London Region in 2016.
