Principal Solutions Architect, Team Lead at MongoDB

Blaine Mincey has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Blaine is currently working at MongoDB as a Principal Solutions Architect and Team Lead since November 2019. In this role, they are responsible for guiding prospects, customers, and users of MongoDB in designing and building reliable and scalable systems.

Prior to their current role, Blaine worked at MongoDB as a Sr. Solutions Architect from November 2016 to October 2019. Blaine played a crucial role in ensuring customer success with MongoDB products by providing software design, deployment patterns, and operational best practices.

Blaine also has experience working at Sonatype as a Senior Systems Engineer from June 2010 to April 2011. Blaine was the first pre-sales engineer at the company and a part of the global sales team.

From April 2008 to May 2010, Blaine worked at Red Hat as a JBoss Sr. Middleware Solutions Architect. Blaine provided technical credibility to the sales team by answering technical questions and conducting live demonstrations of JBoss products.

Blaine's work experience also includes a role as a Software Developer at IBBS from January 2008 to April 2008. Blaine designed and implemented various tools and data collection routines for the company's applications.

Earlier in their career, Blaine worked at Omnilink Systems, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer from April 2007 to January 2008. Blaine contributed to the re-architecture of the primary software application and developed RF monitoring software.

Blaine's work experience also includes significant contributions to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from May 2001 to April 2007 as a Computer Scientist. Blaine provided IT consulting services and developed solutions for various divisions, including bioinformatics applications.

Prior to their career in the IT industry, Blaine served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a 2LT and Adjutant General Officer Basic Course from June 1993 to October 2001.

Blaine also had a role as the Chief Systems Engineer at Home Depot from August 1999 to May 2001.

Blaine Mincey has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Applied Computer Science from Kennesaw State University. Blaine also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration from Shorter University. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science from Mercer University. Blaine has a diverse educational background in the sciences as well, having studied Gen Chem, Organic Chem, Biology, and Physics at Southern Polytechnic State University. Prior to their higher education, they attended Douglas County High School. In terms of certifications, Blaine is a MongoDB Associate Database Administrator and a MongoDB Certified DBA Associate (C100DBA). Blaine is also certified as a MongoDB Associate Developer and a MongoDB Certified Developer, Associate (C100DEV). Furthermore, Blaine holds the Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform certification, which they obtained from Sun Microsystems in January 2001.
