Grace Chu has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Grace started their career as a Production Office Intern at Prospect Pictures in 2004, followed by a position as a Production/Development Intern at Single Cell Pictures, where they were responsible for reading scripts, writing coverage, and maintaining project and script library.
In 2005, Grace worked as a Program Assistant at the Mathematics Diagnostic Testing Project, where they designed newsletters, brochures, and flyers to lower operational costs and coordinated events.
From 2006 to 2008, they served as a Business Development Manager, Copywriter, and Content Coordinator at LiveUniverse, securing partnerships, increasing revenue, and writing copy for websites, presentations, and marketing materials.
In 2009, they founded and launched a humor blog called Funemployment Website, where they wrote over 150 pieces, drove organic traffic, and monetized the site through ad space sales.
From 2010 to 2013, Grace worked at Federated Media Publishing, initially as a Project Manager in Operations, managing and executing custom content marketing programs. Grace later became a Program Manager in Content Strategy, where they developed and managed always-on content marketing programs for major brands.
At NewsCred, Grace held the position of NewsRoom Program Manager, Original Content, from 2014 to 2016. Grace operationalized, scaled, and managed the NewsRoom, a network of over 500 freelance journalists and partners, responsible for delivering original written and visual content to Fortune 500 companies.
At IBM, Grace held various roles starting in 2017. As Managing Editor and Content Strategist, Watson Customer Engagement, they helped marketing professionals unify their businesses around customers using Watson's AI capabilities. In 2019, they became part of the core team launching new social and digital channels and building a brand as Managing Editor, Content and Brand Strategist, in support of Acoustic.
Currently, Grace serves as the Director of Operations, Global Corporate Marketing at MongoDB, a position they have held since May 2023. Prior to this role, they were the Director of Brand Operations from April 2021 to May 2023, and the Director of Content Operations from May 2020 to October 2021.
Grace Chu has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UCLA. Additionally, they studied as a Visiting & Exchange Student at the University of Sussex, specifically in the School of English and American Studies. Grace has obtained several certifications, including being a Certified ANA Marketing Professional from the Association of National Advertisers and completing the Brand-Building Certificate Program from the same institution. Grace has also earned certifications as a Cognitive Practitioner and an Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner from IBM. Grace has further obtained certifications as an IBM Agile Explorer and completed courses in business analysis and Excel for Mac 2011 Essential Training from Lynda.com.
