Jolene Skinner has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning different industries and roles. Their most recent position was as the VP of Engagement and Inclusion at MongoDB since 2022.
Prior to MongoDB, Jolene served in various leadership roles at different organizations. Jolene was a Board Member and Governance Chair at Seattle Community Carrot from 2020 to 2022. At the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), they took on the role of Committee Lead for Membership Expansion from 2021 to 2022.
From 2017 to 2022, Jolene held multiple roles at Amazon. Jolene was the Austin HR Site Leader and Chief of Staff for Devices & Services, and prior to that, they were the HR4HR Leader for the corporate People eXperience and Technology (PxT) organization. Additionally, they served as the AWS Employee Experience Leader, where they led the launch of the Amazon Connections program for AWS.
Before Amazon, Jolene worked as the Global Director of Engagement and Culture and Chief of Staff to the CHRO at Sitel from 2015 to 2017. Jolene led Sitel's Global People and Employee Experience Strategy and played a key role in implementing Sitel's Compass, a new People Strategy.
Jolene also has experience as an Executive Director and Founder of Impact Nashville, a women's giving circle. From 2015 to 2017, they successfully managed the organization, awarding large grant dollars to nonprofit organizations.
Earlier in their career, Jolene held the position of Director of Corporate Culture at Bridgestone Americas and worked as a Senior Consultant at Towers Watson. Jolene also worked at Dell as a Global HR Director, where they held various HR and OD Strategist roles.
Jolene started their career as a Research Project Manager at ISR LLC, a role they held at Willis Towers Watson.
Throughout their career, Jolene has demonstrated expertise in areas such as engagement and inclusion, employee experience, culture development, organization survey and insights, talent management, and leadership development.
Jolene Skinner has an extensive education history in psychology. Jolene holds a PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Northern Illinois University, where they also obtained a Master of Arts degree in Social Psychology. Prior to their graduate studies, Jolene earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Central College. In addition to their academic achievements, Jolene has pursued professional certifications. Jolene obtained certifications from Hogan Assessment Systems, specifically in HPI, HDS, and MVPI. Jolene is also certified as a SHRM-SCP by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and holds the SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI).
