Rob Mann

Vice President Of Technology at Monterey Bay Aquarium

As the Vice President of Technology, Rob directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of the Aquarium’s mission, its operations, and preparing the organization for changes in the future. He is responsible for providing the technology vision and leadership for both internal operations and public-facing technology services.

Prior to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Rob worked in K-12 education technology implementing digital instruction and testing in school districts and education departments across the country. He started his career at a European NGO research institute where he created solutions for information management and organizational communication. This was in the early years of the internet and a great time to bring technology and information systems to mission-based work. Throughout his career, and especially in Monterey, Rob has enjoyed working with nonprofit organizations to find technology that drives the greatest impact for their organization.

Rob attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison and the University of Bonn, Germany. Over the past 10 years, he has participated in community broadband initiatives to bring high-speed internet to underserved communities in Monterey County and operated a broadband internet service in Prunedale, CA from 2010-17.
