Cecily Thorne

Cecily Thorne has extensive experience in public affairs and political operations, currently serving as Chief of Staff for Councilmembers Kate Stewart and Will Jawando in the Montgomery County Government since December 2018. Thorne is also a Silent Partner at INDEPENDENT Public Affairs, a position held since April 2014. Previous roles include Campaign Manager for Jawando for County Council, Director of Operations and Communications at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and Executive Director at NDN. Additionally, Thorne has worked on the U.S. Senate staff for Senator Tom Carper and managed multiple campaigns, including Carper for Senate and the Clinton/Gore 1992 Campaign. Thorne holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Delaware.
