François-Xavier Seigneur joined the Montreal Canadiens in 1982 as the organization's Vice-President of Marketing. Four years later, in 1986, he founded EFFIX, a firm specializing in sports marketing which has since been the exclusive advertising and sponsorship representative for the Montreal Canadiens.
François began his professional career as a sales representative for Procter & Gamble, a global company that provides consumer products in the areas of pharmaceuticals, cleaning supplies and personal care, from 1972 to 1973. He moved on to take on the position of assistant to the Executive Vice-President of the Montreal Summer Olympics organizing committee until 1976, before joining government services as Chief of Cabinet to Canada's Minister of Supply and Services, a position he held until 1978.
He then became Director of Marketing for the Quebec division of the Bank of Montreal until 1980 and later accepted a new challenge as Vice-President of Pinso Sports, a sports equipment manufacturer.
François sits on the Board of Directors of the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation as secretary and is Vice President of Centraide's Major Donors Circle for the greater Montreal area.
Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, on January 10, 1950, François-Xavier Seigneur holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the Montreal Campus of the University of Quebec (UQÀM) in 1972.
