Mario Leblanc

Video Coach at Montréal Canadiens

Mario Leblanc has been supervising the video service for the Canadiens hockey department since the 1996-97 season. He is entering his 25th season with the organization.

Leblanc is responsible for all pre-scouting of the Club's future opponents. He works closely with the coaching staff, putting together scouting reports for the team and individual players. His work includes breaking down other club' systems and tendencies, as well as the preparation of daily meetings with coaching staff and players.

During games, home and away, Leblanc is in direct communication with the Club's assistant coaches, breaking down plays as they happen. His sophisticated editing system ensures that coaches and players have access to the information systematically during games.

Before joining the Canadiens, Leblanc was involved in coaching at various amateur levels in his hometown of Gaspe, Quebec. He is still very active in youth hockey camps and clinics.

A graduate of the Université de Montréal in Physical Education, specialized in hockey, Leblanc played two seasons in the QMJHL with the Montreal Junior in 1980-81 and 1981-82.
