Tech Lead (Senior Backend Engineer), Borrowing at Monzo

Tapan Pandita has a diverse range of experience in various technology roles. Tapan started their career as an Intern at Schlumberger, where they conducted a survey and performed a cost benefit analysis on testing technologies in the oil services sector.

Tapan then joined GlitterBug Technologies, which later became Coverfox, as a Software Developer. In this role, they developed infrastructure and applications for large-scale SaaS projects in the Insurance vertical. Tapan'sprimary responsibilities included setting up servers on AWS, developing Django applications, and creating the frontend interface.

After that, Tapan worked at OpenTable as a Principal Software Engineer. Tapan led the backend team for OpenTable's mobile payments product, including the integration with Apple Pay, which was featured at an Apple Pay event. Tapan also led the backend team at Chalo (acquired by OpenTable), where they created the payments service from scratch and integrated various third-party services.

Next, Tapan co-founded HyperTrack, where they served as the Co-founder. Tapan led the technology team in developing the HyperTrack location stack and successfully scaled it to track millions of miles for hundreds of customers. Tapan also raised significant funding for the company.

Following that, Tapan joined ICICI Bank as the Chief Architect of Innovation Labs. Tapan held this role for two years, where they played a crucial role in driving innovation and architecting solutions.

Most recently, Tapan joined Monzo Bank as a Tech Lead (Senior Backend Engineer) in the Borrowing division. Tapan'sresponsibilities in this role are not specified, and they are still currently employed at Monzo Bank.

Tapan Pandita began their education at St. Francis D'Assisi High School in 1998 and completed their SSC degree there in 2003. Tapan then attended Sathaye College from 2003 to 2005, where they pursued a degree in Science (HSC). Later, Tapan Pandita enrolled at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2005 and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.). The field of study for their B.Tech. degree is not specified.
