Lauren Shalek

Lauren Shalek (she/her) is Manager of Operations and Visitor Services for Moonshot Museum, directing day-to-day operations of the museum, retail store, and behind the scenes logistics. Shalek has worked in nonprofit operations for over ten years and previously held leadership roles at Animal Friends overseeing educational and community-outreach programming. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, she holds an M.A. in industrial/organizational psychology from East Carolina University. An avid reader who loves books about astronomy and biology, she volunteers her time with multiple literary organizations. Shalek resides in the Brighton Heights neighborhood of Pittsburgh’s Northside with her husband Ryan and their three black cats.
