This internship is open to Juniors and Seniors in good academic standing. This internship has a focus on construction management, estimating, and civil engineering application.

An internship with Moretrench Industrial is a great opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to a real-world scenario, with a company that supports learning and development. At Moretrench Industrial, you will learn from highly skilled professionals and experience Moretrench’s broad range of capabilities as it relates to the industrial construction services. We offer a flexible schedule, consisting of 16 to 20 hours weekly (paid). We encourage our interns to get involved with our current projects to further foster the development of their knowledge and skills.

Scope of Responsibilities; not limited to:

  • Review drawing sets, decipher relevant information, and perform ‘take-offs’ to calculate lengths, areas, and volumes as necessary based on the drawings

  • Serve as main point of contact for material and service vendors, providing routine communication as to our current and future needs

  • Assist in the preparation of estimates and budgets

  • Collect relevant field information and interpret results (i.e.: cycle times, load counts, etc.)

  • Gain field exposure as needed to learn more about the industry and the scopes of work our company performs

  • Attend meetings with clients to discuss future work possibilities

  • Attend and participate in internal meetings to discuss potential future projects

  • Assisting project management and engineering staff with administrative tasks as needed

  • Should there be a more technological interest, work with the technology team in AutoCAD, drone work, and other technological aspects can be arranged

  • Company provides all safety and necessary training required

Candidate Skill Set:  

  • Must possess an interest in the construction industry

  • Has a positive attitude and an eagerness to work and learn

  • Strong computer skills, specifically proficient in Excel

  • Mathematical skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently

  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Active listening and skillful verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Previous work experience is a plus
