Rachel Shapiro

Associate at Morgan Brown & Joy

Rachel Shapiro is an employment litigator advising and defending companies at all stages of civil litigation. Rachel helps clients resolve disputes surrounding the employer-employee relationship, including matters involving discipline, termination, leave, wage and hour law, and allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. The foundation for Rachel’s practice is building responsive, trusting relationships. She takes the time to listen and fully understand client concerns so that she may align thoughtful legal strategies and achieve the best possible outcome.

Rachel applies her experience as a former Assistant Attorney General in the Trial Division for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Attorney General’s Office. In that role, she represented public agencies and employees in a range of state and federal lawsuits, including complex employment matters. Her work included co-chairing a Superior Court trial to a defense verdict against retaliation claims and successfully obtaining summary judgment against claims of age discrimination.

Prior to serving the Commonwealth, Rachel advised individual and institutional clients on civil and criminal matters as an associate at a Boston litigation boutique and at an international AmLaw 100 firm.
