OVERVIEW We’re looking for a great writer and visual storyteller to join our social media team and create video content for our social platforms. 

Business and finance news isn’t the most exciting thing, we get that. That’s where you come in. Your job is to pique the interest of our audience on things like the FTC suing to block the JetBlue-Spirit merger through video.

You need to be in the know (or be willing to be in the know) about everything that goes on in the world of business news. 

The next step is to take all that boring information and turn it into an engaging piece of video content. Straight to camera reporting is good, but you know what’s even better, a sketch explainer breaking down the Silicon Valley Bank crash. Basically, concepts and visuals are just as important as the story and writing itself.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON

• Pitch stories and concepts surrounding the world of business and finance.
• Research and write scripts for social videos.
• Shoot content (we’ll give you all the tools you need) 
• Edit and produce the final product 
• Assist with other social video productions 

QUALIFICATIONS  - Experience in creating video content for social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, and others) 

• Ability to write scripts in the Morning Brew style (engaging, informative, clever)
• Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, not After Effects BUT it would be a nice have) 
• Self-starter attitude (can create a video from start-to-finish), with the ability to operate in a collaborative environment. 
• Ability to operate in a high-pressure and fast paced environment (news moves quick!) 
• Located in NYC

COMPENSATION $70,000 *Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided, commensurate with experience. Total offer package to include benefits highlighted under our perks section below.
