Spencer Jones

Spencer Jones has a diverse work experience across various roles and companies. Spencer started their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at Trinity Western University, where they assisted Dr. Peter Flint with a research project on Greek Numbers. After that, they worked as a Web Developer Intern and later as a Full Stack Web Developer at Engage, LLC, where they were responsible for creating and delivering high-quality websites, utilizing tools like PHP, Laravel, WordPress, and MySQL.

Spencer then joined Solution Street LLC as a Software Consultant, where they provided software consulting services. Spencer co-founded SLED Software and took on the role of a Co-Founder, focusing on building an application called Culina.

In 2018, Spencer joined WireWheel.io as an Application Developer and later became a Software Development Manager. In this role, they oversaw development practices and processes, coordinated development and DevOps activities, and ensured timely releases.

Their most recent position is at Morning Consult, where they started as a Senior Software Engineer and is currently working as a Staff Engineer. As the search and discovery team lead, they utilize technologies like React, Node, TypeScript, Jest, Cypress, Postgres, Helm & K8S, Golang, GitLab, and Jira. Spencer is responsible for maintaining test infrastructure, CI jobs, and technical debt initiatives.

Spencer Jones pursued their education at Moody Bible Institute from 2008 to 2012. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree, majoring in Biblical Languages and Philosophical Theology. Following their undergraduate studies, they enrolled at Trinity Western University from 2013 to 2015. Here, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Biblical Studies. Overall, their educational background focused on biblical studies, theology, and languages.
