Sorin Avram

Sorin Avram has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Sorin began their career as a Software Developer at Zoppas Industries in 2003. Sorin then joined Alcatel-Lucent as a Technical Leader in 2004. In 2006, Sorin founded their own travel agency called Indevio Travel, where they served as a Managing Partner and was responsible for developing the business, managing accounts, and creating an online platform. In 2009, they transitioned into project management roles at UEFISCDI, where they successfully delivered large-scale projects and managed budgets. In 2013, Sorin joined Nortal and took on positions such as Project Manager and Senior Project Manager. Sorin handled significant budgets and managed teams across multiple locations while delivering successful projects for public sector clients. Sorin then joined Morningstar in 2019, initially as a Product Manager before advancing to the role of Director of Software Engineering. As of April 2022, they are currently serving as the Head of Data Services at Morningstar. Throughout their career, Sorin has demonstrated expertise in project and team management, adoption of Agile methodologies, change management, and delivering impactful solutions for clients.

Sorin Avram earned a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) degree in Computer and Information Sciences from Universitatea Politehnica din Timișoara in 1999-2004. Sorin then pursued a Master's degree in Economy and Business Administration from West University of Timișoara in 2004-2006. Later on, Sorin Avram completed their education with a PhD degree in Computer Science, specializing in Data mining and Bibliometrics, from University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest in 2009-2013.
