Darren Rawlings has over two decades of experience in the construction industry. Darren started their career as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at Heritage Homes in 1997. Darren then worked as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at P.J Power (Building & Civil Engineering) Ltd for a few months in 1998. In the same year, they joined Elite Homes as a Quantity Surveyor and later took on additional responsibilities as a Buyer and liaison with statutory authorities.
In 2001, Rawlings joined David Wilson Homes as a Quantity Surveyor, where they worked on medium to large scale mixed apartment and housing projects. Darren was responsible for tendering, ordering, subcontract payments, and site development costs.
Rawlings then moved to Morris Developments Ltd in 2002, where they served as a Commercial Manager for speculative housing projects, managing a team of four Quantity Surveyors. Morris Developments was a specialized arm of Morris Homes, focusing on apartment schemes. Darren held this role until 2008.
In the same year, Rawlings returned to Morris Homes Ltd, this time as a Commercial Manager. Darren currently oversees a team of eight Quantity Surveyors, responsible for the commercial aspects of 23 live projects ranging from 20 to 300+ unit sites. Darren ensures that procurement, cost control, payments, and valuations are carried out efficiently and in compliance with deadlines.
From November 2023, Rawlings will be joining David Wilson Homes as a Commercial Manager.
Darren Rawlings holds a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying from The University of Salford, which they completed from 2001 to 2004. Prior to this, they pursued a City & Guilds degree in Computer Aided Draughting using AutoCAD from Oldham College, graduating in 1998. Darren'searliest educational qualification is a BTEC Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering from Nottingham Trent University, which they obtained between 1994 and 1997.
