Derek Werner

Derek Werner is an experienced bridge engineer with a diverse background spanning over two decades in structural design, analysis, and project management. Currently serving as a Bridge Engineer at Morrison Hershfield since March 2017, Derek specializes in detailed design, structural analysis, drawing preparation, and site inspections, while also balancing workload within the CAD group. Previous roles include Intermediate Bridge Engineer at SNT Engineering Ltd., where remote support was provided to the Nelson office, and Structural Bridge Designer at AECOM and Totten Sims Hubicki, focusing on municipal bridge projects and structural evaluations. Derek began the engineering journey as a Junior Designer at The Greer Galloway Group and other firms, building a solid foundation in engineering concepts. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and the Royal Roads Military College.
