Head of Process Engineering at Morrow Batteries

Morten Kollerup Bak has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Morten is currently working at Morrow Batteries as the Head of Process Engineering since July 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Group Leader - Process Engineering Cell Assembly at Morrow Batteries from December 2021 to July 2022.

Before joining Morrow Batteries, Morten was a Board Member at Norsk Industri's "Forum for Maskinering og Additiv Tilvirkning" from March 2020 to November 2021.

Morten has significant experience in the field of mechatronics, having served as the CTO at Mechatronics Innovation Lab from September 2017 to November 2021. Prior to that, Morten was involved in various roles at the University of Agder (UiA), including Project Manager for Mechatronics Innovation Lab (MIL) and Technical Manager for SFI Offshore Mechatronics from April 2015 to August 2017.

Morten's career also includes working as a Senior Engineer in Hydraulic Design at MHWirth from February 2013 to March 2015.

Morten started their professional journey at the University of Agder (UiA) in December 2009, where they worked as a Research Scientist and later as a Research Fellow in Mechatronics until November 2012. During this time, they also worked as an Engineer in Hydraulic Design at Aker Solutions (now MHWirth) from December 2009 to January 2013.

Prior to their involvement in the mechatronics field, Morten gained experience as a Systems and Application Engineer at Sauer-Danfoss (now Danfoss Power Solutions) from August 2008 to December 2009.

Morten began their career as an Engineering Assistant at Liftra Aps from September 2006 to August 2007.

Before venturing into the professional world, Morten served in the Danish Army as a Sergeant in The Royal Life Guards from July 2002 to July 2003 and as a Private in The Royal Life Guards from August 2001 to June 2002.

Morten Kollerup Bak's education history begins in 1998 when they attended Erhversskolerne Aars and obtained a degree in HTX. Morten then attended The Army's Sergeant School (Hærens Sergentskole) from 2001 to 2002, where they earned the rank of Sergeant in the field of Infantry. In 2003, they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Aalborg University, completing it in 2008. Lastly, they enrolled at the University of Agder (UiA) from 2009 to 2014, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Technology, specializing in Mechatronics.
