Alex Farovich

Principal Firmware Engineer at Morse Micro

Alex Farovich has over 20 years of work experience in the software and firmware engineering field. Alex is currently working as a Principal Firmware Engineer at Morse Micro since August 2021. Prior to that, they were the CTO and Founder of Mobixx, an app development company that provided services for creating and managing cross-platform business apps from January 2016 to December 2021.

From October 2017 to July 2021, Alex worked at Duncan Solutions - Australia as a Team Lead and Senior Embedded Software Engineer. During this time, they developed a next-generation parking meter and key tracker platforms. Alex also designed and implemented a parking meter product based on microservice architecture and a communication layer for sending/receiving data using Azure IoT Hub. Alex customized Linux kernel version 4 for these projects.

Before joining Duncan Solutions, Alex served as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at Altair Semiconductor from January 2012 to October 2014. Here, they were involved in the design and implementation of 4G modem control software.

From July 2006 to January 2012, Alex worked at Tabor Electronics Ltd. as a Technical Lead. Alex was responsible for developing embedded and multithreading software for test and measurement systems. Alex also worked as an Embedded Software Engineer at the same company from December 2003 to June 2006, focusing on tasks such as porting embedded TCP/IP stack, building the driver for Ethernet controller, and porting the embedded GUI engine.

Alex started their career as a Firmware Engineer at GE Medical Systems Israel from January 2000 to June 2001. Here, they were involved in the development of embedded component test tools and image storage utility.

Alex Farovich earned a Practical Engineer degree in Electronics and Computer Science from The National School of Practical Engineering at the Technion-IIT (Israel Institute of Technology) City. Alex attended this school from 1997 to 1999. Alex later pursued a B.Sc degree in Software Engineering from Afeka Tel Aviv Academic College of Engineering, which they completed from 2007 to 2011.
