Alberto Millán Acosta

Senior Scientist - Media And Analytical Development at Mosa Meat

Alberto Millán Acosta has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. Alberto is currently working as a Scientist at Mosa Meat since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked at the Universitat de Lleida from 2016 to 2021, where they began as a PhD Student with a focus on designing novel bioprocesses for the recycling and valorization of lignocellulosic biomass and food processing by-products. During this time, they conducted research on the removal of toxic compounds derived from biomass pretreatment, fungal cell culture, and biotransformation of toxic compounds into added-value derivatives. Alberto'srole also involved the identification of volatile organic compounds produced by microorganisms and the production and biotransformation of terpenes using fungi isolated from food waste.

In 2020, Alberto Millán Acosta was a Guest PhD Student at DTU - Technical University of Denmark for a four-month period. Here, they contributed to the design and setup of fermentation experiments, along with the design of a novel method for the simultaneous detoxification and fermentation of lignocellulosic hydrolysates using microbial co-cultures. Alberto also gained experience in the scale-up of fermentation processes in bioreactors.

Alberto Millán Acosta's work experience began in 2014 as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Universitat de Lleida, where they focused on the identification of proteins aiding in the maintenance of mitochondrial DNA in a Saccharomyces cerevisiae Δiba57 mutant. Alberto'sresponsibilities included genetic engineering, yeast cultures, and studying yeast metabolism.

Additionally, in 2011, Alberto Millán Acosta served as a Student Representative at the Universitat de Lleida, showcasing their involvement in academic and organizational activities during their undergraduate years.

Alberto Millán Acosta has an education history that spans several years. In 2011, they enrolled at the Universitat de Lleida and pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology. Alberto successfully completed their studies in 2015.

After obtaining their Bachelor's Degree, Alberto Millán Acosta sought further education and enrolled at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in 2015. There, they pursued a Master's degree in Applied Chromatographic Techniques, which they completed in 2016.

Continuing their academic journey, Alberto Millán Acosta joined the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia - U.N.E.D. in 2019. Alberto embarked on a Bachelor's degree program with a focus on Mathematics. Alberto'sstudies in this field concluded in 2021.

Overall, Alberto Millán Acosta's education history highlights their commitment to biotechnology, applied chromatographic techniques, and mathematics.
