Daan Smits

Daan Smits has a diverse and extensive work experience. From 2021-present, they have been serving as the Head of Operational Development at Mosa Meat. Prior to this, from 2020-2021, they worked as an Independent Consultant Sustainability at 42kilotonne, where they provided advisory services on sustainability topics. From 2012-2020, they worked at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in various roles including Project Leader, Consultant, Recruiting Director, Senior Associate, and Associate. Daan also served as a Member of the Board of Directors at AIESEC The Netherlands from 2014-2015, overseeing organizational results and sustainability. Additionally, they have had roles as a Student Assistant at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in 2010 and 2009, and as the Vice President Student Contact at Make a Move from 2008-2009.

Daan Smits has a diverse education history. In 2016 and 2017, they attended Columbia Business School, where they completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.). Prior to that, in 2011 and 2012, they pursued their MSc. degree in International Master in Industrial Management (IMIM) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. In the same year, they also studied at Politecnico di Milano for their MSc. in International Master in Industrial Engineering (IMIM). In 2010 and 2011, Daan attended Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where they also pursued their MSc. in International Master in Industrial Management (IMIM). Furthermore, Daan earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Groningen, where they studied from 2005 to 2011.

Daan Smits has also obtained a certification as a Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) from Scrum.org in March 2019.
