Evelien Smeets has an extensive academic and research background. Evelien began their career in 2010 at Universiteit Utrecht, where they worked on a major research project until September 2011. In 2011, they joined Maastricht University and completed their master's thesis between September and December of that year. In 2012, they worked on a minor research project at RIVM from January to July.
Moving forward, Evelien joined Radboudumc as a PhD student in January 2013 and continued until January 2015. Following this, they joined Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu as a scientific researcher from March to September 2015. From 2016 to 2019, they worked as a research technician at Universiteit Maastricht.
Most recently, Evelien joined Mosa Meat in December 2019 as a Senior Research Associate, where they are currently employed.
Evelien Smeets has an education history that includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Utrecht University, which they completed from 2007 to 2010. Prior to this, they attended Bisschoppelijk College Echt from 2001 to 2007 for their Voortgezet Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs qualification. Later, Evelien pursued a Master of Science degree in Toxicology and Environmental Health (Biomedical Sciences) from Utrecht University, which they completed from 2010 to 2012.
